Sarah Fobes

Sarah Fobes was born in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, forty-five minutes after the late show of Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon. She spent the next 18 years learning northern survival skills and watching every movie there was at the video store where she worked. Her dad made her learn a new word every day and use it in a sentence. He also made her watch Carl Sagan's Cosmos on PBS which turned out to be life-altering for the little she-nerd.

After bidding farewell to her beloved arctic, she spent the next decade traveling the world, studying film and Russian literature at the University of Calgary, producing independent films about schizophrenia and zombies, learning Japanese shiatsu techniques and playing Civilization III and IV. She cried when Carl Sagan died. She also cried when Stanley Kubrick died. She probably would have been a scientist if algebra didn't make her bleed from the ears.
