Heather hails from Iowa and is a doctoral student in microbiology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She studies bacterial diversity and would like to amaze you with the fact that even though your body has 100 trillion human cells, it holds even more bacterial cells, many of which are essential for health.
When not fiddling with genes in the lab, Heather enjoys camping, biking, crocheting, and spending time with friends and family.
