Katie Law

Katie Law is a science writer and Londoner. Her day job is currently in the world of broadcast media, combining her passions for news, science, the web, celebrity 'culture,' gossip, the arts, television, travel, food, and everything else besides work. Lately, she's moved into the field of science and nature online, working in the branch of the corporation made famous by the grandfather of science communication, Sir David himself. She studied psychology at university, where she supplemented her income by being a guinea pig for her fellow students. Once she got tired of having her brain scanned in the name of science, she finished up her degree and turned her thoughts to the future. Her disappointment at not being able to read minds despite three years of hard work led her to spurn psychology as a career, and to aim for further education. An MSc in Science Communication at Imperial College London swiftly followed, where she met Anne Casselman and Anna Gosline, discovered her passion for science journalism, and learned to embrace her inner geek. When not busy earning her crust, she indulges her love of science by writing about it for www.inkycircus.com, a blog about the girl nerd world, which she helped found. This website has inadvertently led to her interviewing and being interviewed on national radio, and giving a lecture on blogging at the London Apple Store.
