Megha Satyanarayana
Megha is a biojunkie. She loves all things biological, from the smallest bits of DNA to the largest whales at sea. And the redwood forest. Oh, and the gulfstream waters. She has bachelors and doctorate degrees in biology, and in her lab rat life studied the genetics and biochemistry of infectious diseases, immunology, cancer and aging. Then she decided that working on one thing the rest of her life was a little scary and decided to become a writer so she could learn about everything. She is currently a student at the UC Santa Cruz Science Communication program (Slugs rule!), and is an intern at the Santa Cruz Sentinel. Megha has a dog that yes, goes everywhere with her, but no, not in a purse. The dog's a bit large for that. Girl and dog split their free time between the beach and the mountains, and feels pretty darn lucky to live in a place where she's only about 10 to 20 minutes from either.
